Is camel riding animal-friendly?

Responsible providers ensure species-appropriate husbandry, appropriate working hours, and the well-being of the animals. We are committed to treating our camels with respect and sustainability.

Camel riding differs from horse riding in several ways. Camels have a different gait; they move their legs on the same side of their body together, which can feel like a swaying motion. Horses, on the other hand, have a more direct and powerful stride. The saddle also differs; camel saddles are designed to sit between the camel's humps, offering a more elevated and sometimes less stable ride. Horse saddles are positioned on the horse's back and provide a more secure seat. Camels are also generally slower and more endurance-focused than horses, making them ideal for desert travel.

Unlike with horses, you sit in comfortable seats to the left and right of the camel. Camels move differently from horses. Their gait is calmer and more rocking, which many guests find to be a special experience.

Can I book a private camel tour?

Yes, upon request we also offer private tours for couples, families, groups or special occasions.
